WORTH A SHOT   by tom jensen
So now where do I turn?
Once my passion for patience
Its wax and its wick
I have watched its slow burn
Leaving me without a light in my life

So now where do I turn?
Tell me where does it lie?
That magic spark
That touch of sunshine
That once emanated from my eyes?
(brightening up the darkest skies)

Will it come back again?
Or is this the parting of great friends?
A dawn without daylight
One long night that never ends

Hopefully all I need to heal
And cure me from my disease
Is a little rest and peace
In my own back yard
Alone by myself without
Anybody fucking with me…
(now, could I get that, please?)

I’d be ever so grateful
Perhaps I’d even stop
Thinking so many thoughts
That have turned cold and hateful
(yeah, you’re right…probably not)
But at least it was worth a shot
