In
today’s world all your really have is thirty seconds to get people to give you
a chance before they ‘swipe left.’ This is my thirty second rhyme to get your
attention and state my intentions and…yes, it is exactly thirty seconds long…
A
lot of things change over time and rappers are one of them. Ice Cube and Ice –
T used to portray themselves as hardcore street gangsters and now they act in
cheesy movies or cop dramas. And why are they remaking every good movie ever
made and trying to pass it off as something new? This is a bit of a ‘get off my
lawn’ song to educate the youngsters…
When
I went to San Francisco for a month I realized that I was beginning to get
desensitized towards homeless people. That’s a dangerous thing to happen to a
society…
This
one is kinda trippy. Interesting fact: I got paid as a journalist to write for
the local paper covering high school football and other sporting events in my
early twenties. I never pursued journalism after that, however…
Another
one for a female singer. A mean and evil female singer who lives to hurt men!
Haha… If that sums you up then this one is perfect for you!
I
penned these lyrics when I was about twenty as the girl I was having relations
with in a parking lot stated that, “it hurts my knees and it hurts my pride.”
She was disappointed that her parents wouldn’t let us sleep together when I
visited…
Sometimes
it is helpful to put yourself in your enemy’s shoes. This is a radical set of
lyrics that is bound to make the reader think about what causes a human to want
to commit an act of terrorism…
I
think that some people live down to their surroundings and say that it’s just
their fate to live an unfulfilled existence. Damn those people! I do relate,
though…
This
is one of the only poems I’ve ever written that didn’t rhyme and was never
intended to be a song. It captures how important having somebody who is a
positive influence in your life is and this poem contrasts with my poem –THE LIGHT OR
THE WHITE which chooses a substance over a more positive alternative…
LadyWeaver
is my favorite living musician and she has a song entitled: AUM OM A CAPELLA
and this poem is a response to her song…
I wrote this when I was about thirty-nine
years old and was visiting down town Salem, Massachusetts… I’m still looking to
find myself a queen… sad but true
Sometimes
it’s best to look at the root of the problem rather than just the problem…
I
don’t have many songs or poems that let you scream out pretty much as loud as
you can so HIVE MIND is a nice change in that sense…
Some children grow up under difficult circumstances and it can be easy to understand why they have problems as they grow older…
“They
say everybody’s got a story… A fall from grace or shining in glory” – my story
used to have a lot of glory and a lot of falling from grace but now it’s kinda
boring and mundane. Haha… If you are middle aged then your story, too, is HALF
TOLD…
