This is a story about a boy
Whose dog ran away
During a snowstorm
Jason went out
But he didn't go out to play
Jason set out
To find a loved one
No matter what the cost
But as the dog came home
The little boy became lost
When you're a fourth grader
Finding a dog is no easy task
Should you risk your life for a pet?
Well it depends on whom you ask
The fact that Jason said yes
Should come as no surprise
He loved that dog to pieces
You could see it in his eyes
Little Jason was a hero
So he set out through the snow
It saddens my heart deeply
To tell his tale of woe
What a brave little soul
Right up until the end
What a brave little soul
To go searching for his friend
A little bit of inspiration
Is what he left behind
He listened to his heart
Paid no attention to his mind
And right before he left our world
With the situation oh so grim
The last thoughts that filled his head
His dog would do the same for him
The saddest of it all
And the reason why we cried
If not for the heart of an angel
He never would have died
So when you think of him in memory
Try to wipe away your tears
Remember him for what he was
Which is wise beyond his years
