MY MUSE by Tom Jensen
My desire has begun to bleed
Emotional droplets for what my heart needs
Though discovery is bleak
When what you seek
Is so hard to catch
As one's beauty is sketched
With the pen of love
Filled from the pool
of one's own blood
Your eyes appear
on my paper
Your long hair flows
in front of me
Just as ink
flows through my pen
In my mind I once thought
I could exist
Independently from you
But it looks like
I should think again
For sometimes we must retrace our past
To see if little girls and boys
Have grown into
women and men
Have you ever taken
a moment to look back?
At how straight a path
you have taken
From where you
have first began?
These are the thoughts
of a lonely artist
Whose love was once
a blank canvas
But you have since
become my masterpiece
These are the words
of a lonely artist
Who has finally
found some color
In this land where
darkness shall never cease
I see your eyes
as I draw your face
You take me to a place
Where hatred is gone
It has been erased
So I am going to trade my pen
For oil and canvass
once again
As I am the greatest
artist in the world
Every time that I draw you
For this man who used to
Paint pictures with words
Can still remember when...
Each and every time
The last second that I saw you
I am the greatest artist
in the world
Whenever I draw you
My muse, my love
The limit is the sky
These feelings I have for you
Could circle the world wide
My muse, my love
With your picture in my mind
Now I'm never all alone
You're always by my side
You're always here inside...
Always here inside...
Here inside...
Inside...
