MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS by Tom Jensen
Everything that was once important
Has since made an about face turn
Ideals and values I once wrote so proud
The paper on which they were written on has burned

I once heard a wise man say
The only certainty in life is change
Opinions drift with each passing day
Nothing ever remains exactly the same

This good life I lead
Along with my love for you
I may find I no longer need
And they could die too

The high road I walk could suddenly crumble
I might find myself among trash cans in an ally
The mountains I climbed may be a volcano and rumble
For fear of explosion I may hide in the valley

The very place where I learned how to climb
Another message it may send
The sun which I followed may make my eyes blind
The winds may howl causing my moral foundation to bend
