MONOTONY AND THE CIRCLE OF DEATH by Tom Jensen
I wake up in the morning, its just another day
Another day, the same routine it always remains the same
Six days a week I’m not myself, shackled by my chains
Although you left me in body your memory still remains

Within my mind you’re still with me it’s as if nothing’s changed
I try to stay with familiar faces while everything’s deranged
Monotony will drive you mad unless you play pretend
Though we all play the game I think it’s time to end

Free and easy is the only way for me
Sometimes its better to just let it be
There are things in this world that’ll drive you mad
I tried taking the good with the bad

If you’re like me then you’ve worked so hard
that there’s no time left for fun
There’s nothing left for you to do
‘cause everything’s already been done

The hands of the clock always moving
my feet always on the run
A hamster on his wheel
a race never to be won

My free time left at the end of the day
A date with the books so I can get my ‘A’
Seems things always stay the same
This is my life almost everyday

I endure the same old pain
With each new day I play the game
I am stressed and overwhelmed
My life’s been deemed a living hell

I get up when I should stay in bed
Try to live when I feel so dead
Find the strength deep down inside
Life’s a journey so enjoy the ride

The steps are long which lead uphill
You think that they’ll stop but they never will
The higher and higher the darker the sky
The circle continues and then you die
