MONEY TRAIN by Tom Jensen
I’m rolling down that money train
Smiling and cruising down the track
My wheels spinning, landscape’s splitting
On these rails built upon dead peasant’s backs
I’m rolling down that money train
Oh look there’s so little that I lack
Except for the forgiveness from the fallen ones
And we know I’ll never get that
Come one everybody…join in singing
For I bet you all know the song:
Get in, get out, take your money….
And when it breaks…the problem will belong
To the next poor shmuck who comes along
But unfortunately
Those people are gonna be
Our grandsons and granddaughters
The sheep we led to their slaughters
Is what it will read in history
Working for something
Is really working for nothing
If instead of saving civilization
You’re only good at causing destruction
Surely up on some big hill
Someday our breaks will fail
Family will receive a telegram
A “We are so sorry…” in the mail
I’m rolling down that money train
Smiling and cruising down the track
My wheels spinning, landscape’s splitting
On these rails built upon dead peasant’s backs
I’m rolling down that money train
Oh look there’s so little that I lack
Except for the forgiveness from the fallen ones
And we know I’ll never get that
Come one everybody…join in singing
For I bet you all know the song:
Get in, get out, take your money….
And when it breaks…the problem will belong
To the next poor shmuck who comes along
