MINORITY MAJORITY by Tom Jensen
Well it’s Saturday night
And I’m feeling alright
Because I’m a
Upper middle class white suburbanite
Upper middle class white suburbanite
Upper middle class white suburbanite
When I walk around town I get respect
Look at my neighborhood, there’s no neglect
When you’re all middleclass or better
What else would you expect?
I don’t live in the city
I’m from a town
We only have one vagrant
Just bumming around
He's become our mascot
Like a silly clown...
Where I’m from we ain’t got no minorities
Keeping them out seems to be the number one priority
As long as we stay within the minority majority
I get to live in a place where everybody looks just like me
You say that the colored didn’t live next door
When your daddy was a kid
And I say when was the last time
You saw a Native American
You f%$^&*g dumb s%^t
Everybody gets ousted...
Everybody’s in trouble...
There’s always something
Coming over the water...
Coming to burst your bubble…
You see race relations can lead to tricky situations
Lots of people driving Benzes and Beamers
Lots of people waiting down at the bus station…
Using public transportation…
See someone with no car
Who has yet to make it very far
Why don’t you offer them a ride
And just feel lucky that you are…
Upper middle class white suburbanite
Upper middle class white suburbanite
Upper middle class white suburbanite
Don’t you feel lucky...
Just being who you are?
Some kids' great grandparents
Never bought and sold people
As if they were used car
