LOVELY INFINITY by tom jensen
Have a lovely infinity
Were the last words
you said to me
A little piece of poetry
Now there's a lot in a little
A lot of thought in that riddle

That's the reason
behind the rhyme
When your ears hear
something pleasing
As gears start turning
in your mind

Something that'll get you thinking
Forget or forgive a problem
Other than smoking and drinking
We know that's not gonna solve it…

I don't have a drinking problem
I've got a drinking solution
I live in a world
With so much pollution

I live with it in my blood
As dirt runs through my veins
I pour it in my cup
And I drink it up like rain

I don't have a drinking problem
I've got a drinking solution
I tried to give it up
But I figured what's the use?

If and when I put it down
I'll just pick up something else
I've learned from my past by now
I just can't control myself

My heart is beating far too fast
Yet my love is for a false prophet
I aimed for first but finished last
Now I'm hooked on getting off it

I started drinking
to drown my sorrows
But I gave it up
When trouble learned to swim
I treaded water for so long
I never noticed how deep I was in

I've chosen some wrong selections
So don't ask me for any directions
I can only tell you where not to go
I can't explain the ways of the world
I can't show you where to dive for pearls
I guess there are just some things
You have to know
`
I keep my eyes peeled for angels
While I'm living in the world of sin
I can't tell you where I'm going
Only where I've been
