LIFE LINE By Tom Jensen
I got a hundred dollars
in my pocket
Love in my heart and still
I got my good name
I watched the sun
break through the clouds
And I began to
feel happy again
That's the power
of Mother Nature
Good karma and strength
in one's soul
When all it takes
is one good moment
To remember who you are
And regain your self-control
Sure, the beer in my hand
Helped to lift my spirits high
But it would have brought
out the worst in me
Had my life been based upon
The building of a series of lies
Yet when you search
for eternal truths
The essence of
existence of it all
It's times like these
you know you will rise
When so many
others will fall
Sometimes in the name
of being selfish
You can find
the greatest good
As you understand
your place in this world
You learn things
became as they should
Still air can
define a lifetime
Just as swirling breezes
can become too strong
Sometimes what's needed
is to be thrown a lifeline
And to know it's alright
when everyone tells
you you're wrong
For the morning is wiser
than the evening
As ignorance grows bliss
with the setting sun
Life's lessons often
involve grieving
For both what you have
and haven't done
