HORIZON by Tom Jensen
I’m another discoverer out there searching
Some turn to run from what’s been lurking
Though when this begun is still not certain
What’s most important now is how will it end?

I checked the weather
It’s getting better
Sunny blue skies
Are on the horizon

Meanwhile the men are out working
They can hear the birds now chirping
As the town that was sleeping
Is waking up…

I checked the weather
It’s getting better
Sunny blue skies
Are on the horizon

I awoke without frowning
Not even a yawn when
I got out of bed…
It’s been quite some time
Yes, I’d say it’s been awhile
Since last my morning lay began
By starting the day by wearing
A mischievous smile upon my face…

So with neither cold toes nor shiver
I headed straight forward
on towards the open door
and I jumped in the river…

Since there was no lake
I did whatever it takes
Then it became mind over matter
And no mind matters more than mine…

Since pre-conception is the prison guard and key
That lack of recollection allows you to turn and leave
Funny how I don’t recall at all
What happened to me before the fall…
Nor still do I
To this standing day
Know how or why
Time like ice melted and thawed
And soon faded away…

Even when the vultures circle
you must carry on
Forgetting all the rest
If your right ever turns out to be wrong…

I checked the weather
It’s getting better
Sunny blue skies
Are on the horizon
