HARD LINE By Tom Jensen
Sure is tough turf to toe…
Yes, a hard line to step
For there were so many I know
And now there’s not many left
When it was time to choose sides
I was the one holding my breath
I’ll always fight for what is right
Even if it’s far out and to the left
‘Tis better to be right…
and left out than to be on the wrong side
But if you become an army of one
You’re usually only fighting your pride
Or it’s something else you hide…
It’s so hard to go
From being obsessed with the material
And then blend back in
With all that’s spiritual
Sometimes I believe it’ll take a miracle
If I manage to come back at all…
Sure is tough turf to toe
A hard line to step
For there were so many I know
And now there’s not many left
When it was time to choose sides
I was the one holding my breath
I’ll always fight for what is right
Even if it’s far out and to the left
Can you dig it? It’s what I said
I don’t care if I bury myself
All the way up to my neck
Let the world do the rest…
The world will surely do the rest…
At least I can say that I became
A better man because I tried my best
What else would you expect?
