DROPPING SCIENCE By Tom Jensen
If you dropped science
I can't win by using logic
But I can stand defiant
Atop this soap box
Daring you all to come
And knock me off it
As I tell everybody
Anyone who'll listen
That don't make it good
Just because it glistens
That don't make it right
Even if a lot of people believe it
Ever since man held flame
Ever since birds took flight
History has been the same
Except for the names get changed
Little kids learn to read
And then they learn to fight
We're all taught to believe
That our side was right
The sun is shining
down upon us
Man in moon smiling,
grinning with delight...
I can't drop science
Or win by using logic
But I can stand defiant
Take back the soap box
After I knock him off it
And tell everybody
Anyone who'll listen
That don't make it good
Just 'cause it glistens
oh no, oh no, oh no
That don't make it right
Even if a lot of people believe it
The truth is might makes right
When you make the rules
You can call it what you like
War and death
or campaign for freedom
When people are scared to death
It’s a heckuva lot easier to lead them
