BRAVEHEART By Tom Jensen
Before you pledge your allegiance
You best know which side you’re fighting for
For in this battle not everyone bleeds
There’s no guns, nor swords in this kind of war
This is the war for your soul, a battle of wills
In which your friend is yourself, and bad advice kills
Who is your leader and by who are you lead?
If this figure is not a hero then you’re better off dead
You need the strongest of convictions
There is no changing sides
Needless to say you must choose wisely
If you want to stay alive
The false prophets are many
In this world full of masks
And you must answer quickly
When anybody asks
The killing fields are all around you
Need to only open up your eyes
Many say but not many do
Speak in half-truths if not bitter lies
What some will promise is great
Though few have the strength to fulfill
With every day the time grows later
And steeper becomes the hill
The choice rests on you still
As only you control your fate
Sure, the trap they set will kill
But only if you take the bait
