BARS AND SCARS By Tom Jensen
Goodbye my loving wife
Goodbye my loving kid
They're sending me down the river
Found out just exactly what I did
Daddy do you have to pack?
No son, I don't need no clothes
Daddy let me open up the door
Son, it's already closed
Honey don't cry
You'll have to be strong
Our son needs a father
Another will come along
They're sending me away
To the tin can
The lockup
The clink
With only time on my hands
Time to watch the clock and think
They call it life
But they should call it death
For I'll sit in this place
Until my last breath
I will have to stand all alone
With myself my best friend
My fate may or may not be deserved
But you know I'd do it all again
There are times to turn the other cheek
And other times to hold a grudge
A time to be bold and a time to be meek
Yet sometimes you're the jury and the judge
Family is a bond that you can never break
So when it's threatened you do what it takes
When a stranger breaks into your home
There's no chance he'll ever walk home
I guess that we all learned a lesson
One first taught by Smith & Wesson
From that night on
Life hasn't been much fun
Went from the defender of my home
To being out on the run
When all your hiding places are gone
You got to face the music, you got to be strong
And though you didn't choose it
Who's to say that you were wrong?
